Here in central Texas, it doesn’t really snow during winter. It just gets cold, rainy, and miserable. For some reason, I like to embrace rainy days and stay inside to be all gloom and doom. And I want to do this today especially today, since I’m still recovering from some bad choices on New Year’s Eve.
Death Cab for Cutie’s 5th album, Plans, is the perfect company for that very activity.
About the Band:
Death Cab is an indie rock band from Washington that currently consists of Ben Gibbard, Chris Walla, Nick Harmer, and Jason McGerr. It started off as a solo project of Gibbard’s, but when he found success with a cassette tape he released, he decided to expand it to a full fledged band.

Why You Should Listen To It:
To me, music definitely helps me to get through bad days. This is a great album to listen to on rainy days, the day after a breakup, or after the loss of someone close to you. Plans is very cathartic; it’ll help you work through whatever is bothering you and making your day so crappy. So grab some cookies (and tissues if you need them), curl up with a blanket, and enjoy.
