Celebrity Chic on the Cheap: Diane Kruger is Laidback and Ladylike in lace

[Welcome to Celebrity Chic on the Cheap, where our style guru takes a celebrity look and breaks it down for you, our poor college fashionista. What does that mean? It means that while the celebrities (like too-cute-for-words Sarah Michelle Gellar) are spending $5,000 and more on an ensemble, you an spend way less…and save the rest for Margarita Mondays.]

Diane Kruger may not be making a name for herself as an actress, but she is definitely solidifying her place as one of Hollywood’s most consistently on-point fashionistas. She has an incredibly versatile sense of style that rarely, if ever, misses the mark. From boho to preppy to glam to hipster-esque, Diane incorporates them all into her personal style and never fails to pull them off. She’s not afraid to take risks, but never strays too far away from a classically feminine and delicate aesthetic.

The abundance of little white dresses available in stores is absolutely one of my favorite parts of summer. The perfect companion to the little black dress, white dresses are appropriate for almost occasion, and always ooze chic. Lace is incredibly trendy right now, this white dress has it in spades. It’s sexy, while still being demure and casual enough for day time.

Diane chose minimal accessories for this look, but the ones she chose still pack a punch. Straw hats are perfect for adding a dash of retro preppiness. A gray scarf adds a cool tone to an otherwise bright and summery aesthetic. I am a huge fan of metallic shoes, and these silver sandals are so versatile and far more fashionable than flip-flops (I take any and all opportunities to hate on flip flops. If you’re not in a public shower or on the beach, leave them in your closet). This look is the perfect combination of laidback but still well put-together, which is all I expect from summer fashion.
