In Our Makeup Bag: Make Up For Ever Wild & Chic Best Of Set

What It Is:
Make Up For Ever Wild & Chic Best Of Set

Why This Should Be in Your Bag:
Make Up For Ever is a regular here on Makeup Bag, and with good reason — their products are fab! They make professional-quality makeup that is accessible to the masses. I count their HD Microfinish powder, Smoky Lash mascara and Aqua Creams amongst some of my fave products, so imagine my excitement when I discovered that you can get all their best in one set!
In this kit you get: 0.17 oz HD Microfinish Powder, 0.21 oz Aqua Cream in 13 Warm Beige (champagne shimmer), 0.04 oz Travel Aqua Eyes in Mat Black 0L (black), 0.09 oz Lab Shine in Star Collection – S4 (pearly pink beige), 0.5 oz HD Microperfecting Primer, 0.23 oz Smoky Lash Extra Black Mascara. That’s three full-size and three travel-size items for $55.
How To Use It:
The items in this kit were included so you can do your whole look. Start by applying the HD Microperfecting Primer all over your face, then dust on the HD Microfinish Powder with a brush for a soft-focus look. Swipe the Aqua Cream over your eyelid – I prefer to use my finger, but you can use a brush if you like. It dries down very quickly, so work fast! Next, line your eyes with the Aqua Eyes, curl your lashes and apply the Smoky Lash Mascara. Finish off with the Lab Shine Lipgloss and you’re done!

CC Rating: A
This kit is great for anyone new to MUFE or MUFE junkies who want back-ups of their faves. I’m particularly excited about the mini HD Microfinish Powder. I carry my regular size with me everyday, so I’m happy to unload a bit of bulk and carry this purse-friendly size instead. Like I said, Smoky Lash and Aqua Creams are also must-haves of mine, so I’m very excited to get full-size versions of those. The quality of all the products is up to par with MUFE’s regular versions. Sometimes, the quality in kits or palettes isn’t up to par, but all six products perform wonderfully. The primer tightens pores and creates a nice base for makeup application, while the powder mattifies and “softens” the look of your skin. The Aqua Cream is a great, basic shade and applies well. The eyeliner is unbelievably waterproof. The mascara isn’t the waterproof version, but provides thick, lush lashes. The lipgloss isn’t my favorite formula ever, but it does leave you with a plump, shimmery, neutral lip.

I only wish they came out with a few different versions of this kit, changing up the color of the Aqua Cream and Lab Shine Lipgloss in each. I already have S4 Lipgloss, and while it’s a nice shade, I probably don’t need two. Although, because the lipgloss is worth $18 on it’s own, I could gift it. The Aqua Cream is great too, but very similar to a shade I already own by Benefit. I guess keeping the shades neutral makes most people happy, but I would have liked to see a smoky version (with a charcoal Aqua Cream and nude Lipgloss) and a fun one (a bright-colored Aqua Cream and equally bright lipgloss).
All in all, the value of this kit is totally undeniable. Normally, these products would cost you $103 and with this kit being $55, you’re getting almost a 50% discount. Even if you only buy it for the Lab Shine, Smoky Lash and Aqua Cream, you’re still saving about $10 and getting a bunch of great minis! You can find it at Sephora or at for $55.
