In Our Makeup Bag: Burberry Lip Cover Lipstick

What It Is: Burberry Lip Cover Lipstick in 27 Tulip Pink and 30 Primrose Hill Pink
Why This Should Be in Your Bag:
Recently, I’ve been moving into the land of luxury beauty products and Burberry has been my go-to brand. Known for high-end clothing and accessories, they spared no expense when it came to creating a beauty collection as iconic as the Burberry check.

Their Lip Cover formula features “a lightweight combination of nourishing oils and gel dispersed pigment [that] ensures intense moisture and long lasting color”. For their Spring/Summer 2012 collection, they released four new shades, two of which I’m testing here!
How To Use It:
Burberry suggests to apply this like a normal lipstick or “apply to the finger and press into the lips for a more effortless natural color.” Can’t say I’ve ever tried this method, but it would be like applying lipstick and then blotting to remove some of the color and shine.

(L-R: Primrose Hill Pink, Tulip Pink)

CC Rating: A+

Oh gosh, I’m so sorry readers. If there is one new product you should be picking up for spring/summer, it’s these. I’m serious. Burberry’s Lip Cover is the absolute best lipstick formula I’ve reviewed to date. Moisturizing, pigmented, glossy and oh-so-comfortable, they are truly amazing. These two shades are stunning for the warmer months ahead, but the entire line is full of super wearable colors. Primrose Hill Pink brightens up my whole face and actually makes my cheeks look slightly flushed, while Tulip Pink is great for days when I’m sporting minimal makeup or have really played up my eyes and want to keep my lips subtle.
The $30 US/$36 CAD price tag probably isn’t sitting well with some readers, but I can honestly say it’s worth every single penny. You could buy two or three mediocre lipsticks with this cash, or save up and buy something really spectacular. Even the packaging makes you feel rich! It’s heavy metal and shuts with a magnetic closure, so you don’t have to worry about the cap coming off in your purse.
If I could give these an A+++, I would. Since I picked them up, at least one has been in my handbag at all times. Run, don’t walk, to your nearest Burberry counter and swatch these Spring/Summer 2012 beauties for yourself!
