Make Up For Ever Eye Prime [In Our Makeup Bag]

What It Is:
Make Up For Ever Eye Prime
Why This Should Be in Your Bag:
Eyeshadow primer is (or should be) your best friend if you often sport shadow. Not only does it intensify the shade, it makes your shadow last eons longer than normal. It can also ease the suffering of ladies with oily lids, as it keeps skin matte and fresh. I know it sounds like something trivial, but I have oily eyelids (and oily skin in general) and find primer to be a godsend when I’m wearing shadow or not.
Make Up For Ever is a favorite of mine and an all-around great brand. Their mandate is to bring professional-quality products to the masses and they usually deliver on that promise. Since they’re known for their intensely-pigmented shadows, I couldn’t wait to try out their primer!

How To Use It:
Using the doe-foot applicator, “apply a thin layer of Eye Prime on the eyelids and gently blend with your fingers.” I usually wait for my eye primer to set for a few minutes before applying shadow. It’s as simple as that!

CC Rating: C-
I feel like I’ve been reviewing a lot of disappointing products lately. MUFE Eye Prime originally makes my shadows much more intense than normal, but by 4-6 hours, the shadow is significantly faded and creased. You can see in the two photos above, by hour 6 I basically need to re-do my eye look. I really wanted to love the Make Up For Ever Eye Prime, but I honestly can’t recommend it. It’s pricier per ounce than the Urban Decay Primer Potion and NARS Smudgeproof, making this the dud of the group by far.
If you’re curiosity can’t be tamed, Make Up For Ever’s new Eye Prime is available at Sephora for $22 USD/$25 CAD.
