Wear White After Labor Day [CC Lookbook]

I’ll admit it, most of the time, I like to play by the rules. I do what I’m supposed to do when I’m supposed to do it. Why? Because it works. Because it gets results and because it makes sense. But there’s one area of my life that I never play by the rules in, and that’s fashion. Why? Because those rules were made to be broken. So no I don’t always match my shoes to my purse, and yes I have worn denim on (different shades) of denim. But most importantly, I do where white after Labor. And you should too.
Here’s how.
Keep it Classic
Classic pieces are timeless. They never look out of place, off trend, or as if they’re being worn in the wrong season. So when you’re wearing white after labor day stick to the basics, which you should definitely own in white. You can’t go wrong with a white button down or a white t-shirt paired with a pair of jeans no matter what the date is.
Consider the Fabric
White mesh? That won’t work after labor day. White cotton? That’s debatable.  A white cable knit? That will most definitely work. In my mind, there’s nothing quite as comfy as a cozy cable knit sweater. And the natural off white color its often found in is the perfect way to incorporate that crisp color into your wardrobe post labor day.
Confidence is Key
In order to work any look you have to feel comfortable with what you’re wearing, and, more importantly, you have to feel confident that you can pull it out. So if you want to wear white after labor day wear it, work it, and know that you’re working it. Know that it looks good, and feels good, and nothing else will matter (not even an out of date rule). Whether it be a white leather jacket, a pair of skinnies, or trench, bring white into your fall and winter wardrobe by buying the pieces you love the most in the neutral shade.
What about you?
Are you a fashion risk taker and rule breaker or do you prefer to play it safe? Which of these outfits are you most likely to wear after labor day? Leave me a comment and let me know!
