The first date.
It’s an event that strikes excitement and anxiousness (in equal measure) in the hearts of girls everywhere. Will you like him? Will he like you? Should you offer to pay? Should you bring up your ex? What if he brings up his ex? And, most importantly WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO WEAR?
The first date outfit is a big one. You want to look great, but you also don’t want to look like you’re trying too hard? But most of the time you’re probably just over-thinking it. Really, you just need to follow these two rules.
It’s my own personal rule to never wear something new on a first date, and I would love to pass that wisdom on to you lovely readers. You’re way better offer wearing your favorite top, rather than your brand new top. Why? 1. Because you know that it fits you not just for the first few minutes you try it on, but the whole night. 2. Because there’s no chance you’ll accidentally leave the tag on and have it sticking out throughout dinner. (It happens.) 3. Because you know you feel confident and cool every time you wear it.
Sure you might lose cool points for asking about the venue but you’ll feel a lot better than you would if you showed up to a football game in a strapless black dress. Find out where you two are going and dress for the event. You know that saying you can never be overdressed? Well you definitely can be. And you definitely can be under-dressed. So dress with location in mind even if you really want to wear those new stilettos.
What do you think?
What did you wear the last time you went on a first date? Do you have a go-to outfit or do you decide last minute? Leave a comment and let me know!
