4 Tips for Looking Your Game Day Best [CC Lookbook]

If there is one topic I will readily admit to being absolutely clueless on, it’s sports. Football? Basketball? Baseball? They were never my thing. I hated playing them, and I hate watching them just as much. But when the weather gets cooler, and the pumpkin spice lattes start showing up, even I get a little nostalgic for some football. And even though I’m a little bit clueless on how the game works, I do know to dress for them.
Show Some School Spirit
Every college gal owns at least one t-shit, sweatshirt, hat or foam finger with their school name on it. If you didn’t buy it at the bookstore than you got it for free at orientation. Put that shirt to good use on game day. Pair it with some denim, and other items that show off your school colors. And never forget the styling power of that giant foam finger.
Keep it Casual
Game day is not the day to break out the form fitting skirts or the super high heels. I’m going to go out on a limb and say you should always, always be wearing flats to the field. And although it’s a personal preference, you will probably always be more comfy in a pair of shorts or jeans than you will in a dress or skirt. You’ll be sitting for a while (when you’re not jumping up and down) so make sure you’re comfy!
Dress Weather Appropriate
For me, football games immediately bring to mind cool fall weather, cups of hot coco and big cozy scarfs. Dressing up in warm comfy clothing and sipping hot beverages is half the fun (at least if you’re someone like me who just isn’t a sports person.) So my automatic response is to bring on the winter weather accessories. But if you live in an area that’s not quite as cool in October than you’ll have to opt for something a little more sensible. Denim cut-offs  and a jersey always work.
What do you think?
Will you be heading to any football games this weekend? What will you be wearing? Let me know!
