Summer is over but you should wear shades all year round to prevent crow’s feet. The sun is still shining when it’s cold so there is never any excuse for skimping on sun protection. You might be bored of your summertime shades so why not spruce them up a bit with these cool DIY projects inspired by Refinery 29 and Glitter N Glue? (Unless you can afford to rock a real pair of Dolce & Gabbana embellished shades. More power to you.)
These are really easy to make and super cheap.
What You’ll Need:
- A pair of cheap-o sunglasses
- Crazy Glue
- Floral/rose beads (or any beads of your choice) These are $7.00 for 16.
Suggestion: If you’re not going to go with the floral beads try using a gold or silver micro bead so that it looks more graphic, edgy and luxe. These are $5.00 for 1,000.
Step 1: Lay down newspaper onto your work space to keep the crazy glue from getting everywhere.
Step 2: Dot each rose bead with crazy glue (or if using micro beads outline the sunglasses rim with crazy glue)
Step 3: Place each rose bead at the corner of the sunglasses (or dip sunglasses onto pile of micro beads to cover entire rim)
Step 4: Let dry for 5 minutes.
Your glasses should look like these:
