Obama Is TIME’s Person Of The Year [Candy Dish]

Barack Obama was named TIME’s Person Of The Year for the second time. The re-elected president made a very progressive impression toward the end of his first stint, which ultimately led to his second victory. TIME gives their reasoning:

“There are many reasons for this, but the biggest by far are the nation’s changing demographics and Obama’s unique ability to capitalize on them. He is the first president to embrace gay marriage and to offer work permits to many young undocumented immigrants.”

Those are some pretty cool things, although I am surprised that they didn’t choose a woman or “women” in general considering that powerful women seem to be taking precedence in the cultural zeitgeist. What do you think about their choice?
