Don't Freak Out! Here's What to Wear On Christmas [CC Loobook]

The holiday season is here and it means one thing to the fashion world: an influx of red and green sweaters, sparkly dresses, and tulle skirts. Suddenly a sparkly black tulle dress seems like a basic, must-have or at least it did to me.  But that’s just of the buzz of the holiday season talking. Sure you want to dress up and enjoy these special occasions but that doesn’t mean you have to do look like an extra from Gossip Girl. When this much glitter is involved it gets a little complicated, so check out my tips below to help you find the perfect outfit for any holiday party this season.
Embrace the Cliche
Sure, maybe it seems cliche to wear red or green to a holiday party. But not if you wear it in an unexpected way! There’s nothing cliche about hunter green skinnies or even a plaid dress if it’s a modern shape. Pair them with chic accessories and it will give a classic look a modern twist that you won’t regret when you’re looking at your pictures next year.
Think About the Occasion
If you’re headed to a ballroom or a party that has a formal dress code than go all out, with the black dress and the sparkly heels or the sparkly dress and the black heels. But if you’re going to be in your friend’s basement or heading out to a casual restaurant keep that in mind when you’re picking out your outfit. Heels can be dressed down with denim. And a skirt will look less formal when paired with a turtle neck and high boots. It’s all about balance.
Wear Something Sparkly
December is pretty much the only month you can get away with wearing something super sparkly without everyone calling your a disco ball. So embrace it! Whether it’s the glitter polka dot top I have pictured below, sparkled shoes, or even a bedazzled clutch, add a little bit of glamour to your look for the holiday season.
What Do You Think?
What will you be wearing to your holiday parties this year? Do you get all decked out in glitter and sparkles or do you go for a more casual vibe? Red and green? Or black and gold?
