Who’s Got the Better End of the Deal on Valentine’s Day? [He Said/She Said]

I’m sorry, I’ve got to say it. Girls have it way harder on Valentine’s Day. First of all, there’s the pressure of expectation. Any girl with a boyfriend can’t ASK for anything on Valentine’s Day, it will make them look weird. But they’re expecting something. And their friends are expecting them to get something. The possibility that maybe a girl’s boyfriend WON’T get her anything is kind of horrible. It’s stressful. Of course, if you’re single it sucks even more. You have to be around girls gushing about the amaaaazing gift their significant other got them ALL DAY.

Here’s the other thing. Any guy who’s complaining about getting their girlfriend a gift, please suck it up. Girls are so easy to shop for. There isn’t a girl out there who’s going to turn down flowers, or who won’t appreciate their favorite candy or a sweet card. Guys are tough to buy for. Sure, we can give the gift of some bedroom time, but that’s not special enough! Guys won’t be happy with flowers, loads of them don’t really like sweet stuff, and would prefer gadgets or new clothes — neither of which college girls can afford.

Plus, seriously guys. Everyone says Valentine’s Day is all about girls. Really, it’s just a great day for men across the world. All they have to do is send a nice bunch of flowers and they will get the gift of a very appreciative girlfriend. That’s it. That’s all they have to do.
