FLOTUS Dances Like a Mom, Goats Sing Like Taylor Swift [Current Events Cheat Sheet]

This week’s Current Events Cheat Sheet has TWO viral videos, because I just couldn’t choose. Maybe I’m feeling generous because the Oscars were last night, or maybe it’s because the second video made me laugh so hard I almost cried. Here are the week’s top stories!

At Home

Former Illinois police officer Drew Peterson was sentenced to 38 years in prison for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in 2004. The prosecutor is also reportedly considering filing charges against him for the murder of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, who went missing in 2007.

Oakland rapper Kenny Clutch was killed in a hit-and-run shooting on the Las Vegas strip.

WCBS news anchor Rob Morrison was arrested for allegedly choking his wife, CBS anchor Ashley Morrison.

The World

French journalist Oliver Voisin died due to injuries he sustained while covering the war in Syria.

Palestinians have disputed an Israeli report about the cause of death of a 30-year-old Palestinian prisoner who was being held in an Israeli jail. Israeli officials reported that he died of a heart attack, but Palestinians claim that his death was the result of torture.

Afghan president Hamid Karzai ordered U.S. special forces out of a key strategic province in Afghanistan after allegations of torture.

Driver Jimmie Johnson won the Daytona 500. Danica Patrick, who finished first in the qualifying rounds, finished eighth overall.

MMA fighter Ronda Rousey won the first women’s UFC championship.

Hot on the Web

Need any more proof that Michelle Obama is the coolest first lady ever? Here you go: FLOTUS went on the Jimmy Fallon show and did a segment on “The Evolution of Mom Dancing.”

And now… the video that made me laugh so hard I almost cried. Taylor Swift‘s “Trouble,” the goat version.
