Reviewing Perricone MD’s Blue Plasma [In Our Makeup Bag]

What It Is:

Perricone MD Blue Plasma

Why This Should Be in Your Bag:

Skincare is truly the foundation of any good makeup routine; if you’re not taking care of your skin, it will show, no matter how much makeup you slap on! Perricone MD is a brand I trust as their products constantly get raves and have a medical doctor backing them. That’s probably the only reason they were able to get me to try a product called Blue Plasma, which also happens to look like electric blue Kool-Aid! It promises to be “a nonacidic daily peel that delivers all the benefits of a traditional peel, without causing surface redness, irritation, or damage to skin.” I’ve always been hesitant about peels, but decided to give this a go and share my experience with you.

How To Use It:

Perricone MD recommends applying Blue Plasma directly after cleansing, day or night. I didn’t feel the need to have a peel on my skin 24 hours a day, so I just applied after I washed my face at night.

CC Rating: A-

Wow! After using Blue Plasma for a couple weeks, I will officially call myself a peel convert. Each and every morning I’ve been waking up with radiant, glowing skin – no joke! This stuff is a powerhouse and I can say my skin was visibly improved from the first use.

There are two issues keeping this from A+ glory: the $95 price tag and the texture. $95 for any one product is quite the investment for a college-gal and I can imagine that a lot of people in their 20s may not be able to afford this. Of course, I know it’s priced that way because of the quality ingredients and results that it delivers, but it’s still rather steep! And the texture. When I apply it, it feels almost sticky on my face. Perricone MD says you can wear this during the day, but I imagine it would be awfully uncomfortable and would likely alter the appearance of anything you applied over top.

If you have the spare cash, run to Sephora and pick up Perricone MD Blue Plasma. It’s been saving my skin during these past stressful weeks!
