This is one of the scariest things that has happened in a long time. The first suspect identified as Tamerlan Tsarnaev has died, while the 2nd suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is on the run in Waterfront. Taxi cab service has been suspended in Boston and Waterfront is under complete lockdown. The Frisky reports:
“Last night, those two suspects — now identified as brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev – robbed a 7-11 near MIT, shot and killed an MIT police officer, and committed an armed carjacking (the driver was released unharmed). Police pursued the car, a gunfight ensued, and the suspects allegedly threw explosives into the street. Elder brother Tamerlan was killed and Dzhokhar apparently ran over his brother in order to get away. An IED was strapped to Tamerlan’s chest. Police are now on a city-wide manhunt for the remaining suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and the entire city of Boston has been advised to stay inside with their doors locked.”
