Where Are They Now? “Varsity Blues” Edition (Oh Yeah, This is Happening)

It’s hard for me to accept just how old the 1999 sport-drama Varsity Blues really is. Mostly because that means Paul Walker is getting into that Too Old For Me range. Not cool, Paul, not cool. Fourteen whole years ago he and the rest of the West Canaan High School football team felt all the feels in their small Texan town. Kids born that year are in high school now. Yes, we all feel elderly now.

Since Varsity Blues, the football drama genre has exploded. Remember the Titans, with Mom-and-Daughter friendly hotties Denzel Washington and RyGos, came out the next year. Friday Night Lights (the movie) hit theaters in 2004 and Forever Missed Friday Night Lights (the TV show) gave us our weekly Taylor Kitsch fix starting in 2006. I’d like to think VB‘s boys had something to do with that. So what’s the West Canaan football team up to now?

Ariana Romero is a student at Syracuse University. That would probably explain why she once had a load of laundry filled solely with orange tee shirts. Follow her on Twitter @ArianaRomero17 where she mostly talks about Game of Thrones Robb Stark.
