What Playoff Sports are Like for Fans, As Told Through .Gifs


So the other night, I was up until midnight, watching NHL playoff hockey. The game, between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins, went into triple overtime, and I almost went into cardiac arrest. Do you guys realize how much sudden death overtime that is? A LOT. As a Blackhawks fan, I yell. I yell and I scream and I go nuts when they score. I cry when they lose, and I lash out weeks later when I have flashbacks to devastating losses. Okay, maybe that’s a little too far, bu t I get pretty into it.

I’m sure many of you are diehard fans of one team or another. Maybe you’re a Heat fan (gross, why?). Or maybe you love the NFL and can’t wait for preseason to start. Whatever revs your engine, whatever team you root for, playoff sports are like a regular game on crack.

I’m here to break this all down for you.  I’m here to explain what a playoff game is like for a diehard fan–through .gifs of course!

So your team made it to playoff finals and you’re all like…

But then it hits you that this is the FINALS and they could LOSE and you’re like…

Then your dad tells you that he got tickets to the game! And you’re like: 

Then you hear the National Anthem playing and you’re like: 

The game starts and the other team score first, and you’re like: 

But then we score right back, and you’re like: 

Then somehow the game goes into sudden death overtime, and you’re like: 

You also got sat next to people from the away team, being obnoxious, and you’re like:

So during the intermission, you decide to binge on food to hide your nerves like:




And then you realize you have to do this all over again in a couple days, and you’re like:
