Let’s talk about when my dad has a mid-life crisis. We all saw it coming. Slowly but surely, my dad started dyeing his salt and pepper hair back to straight up black. He started working out at the gym. He bought a new sports car that my mom was super mad about. He was just acting like his life was going to be over before he knew it, so he had to go and do all these things that he hadn’t done in the first half of his life. He finally got over all of it once he hurt his hip at the gym. Thankfully, he’s back to his old self.
But then I started thinking about my own life, and how I’m almost 25. What the heck have I done in 25 years of living that is worth telling? I went to college and graduated, but what now? What do I really have to show for it? I didn’t join the Peace Corps or backpack Europe. I didn’t take a big internship in New York City and I didn’t get married right out of school.
My twenties are not what I thought they would be, and this leads to the panic. This leads to the crisis. Thankfully, I’ve realized that I am not alone in this! Many people also go through these struggles, and the lovely folks at Buzzfeed have compiled all the anxiety, fear, and stress of being in your quarter-life into a nice video. Check it out below!
