Snack Hack: Make This 3-Minute Chocolate Cake Because It’s Friday And You’ve Earned It

This is an all purpose 3-minute, microwavable chocolate cake recipe that I’ve made many, many times. I eat paleo, so I will provide my variation which is low carb, low sugar and gluten free but will also provide a recipe for those of you who eat gluten and wheat. Yay, fun! It really, actually only takes three minutes and it’s really, really rich. What I love about this is, while yes you have to have these ingredients, but after you buy them they are in such large quantities once you have them you can eat this over and over again.

Low Carb/Low Sugar/Paleo 3-Minute Cake

3 Tablespoons of coconut flour or almond flour.

3 Tablespoons of cocoa powder (I prefer unsweetend but it doesn’t matter)

2 Tablespoons of honey (optional, I typically don’t use honey. You can add a teaspoon or two of Stevia if you like super sweet stuff.)

2 Tablespoons of oil (I use coconut oil, but any other kind or melted butter will do)

1 Egg

1 Teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 Tablespoon of coconut or almond milk

2 Tablespoons of 70% cacao or higher dark chocolate pieces

Step 1: Put all of the dry ingredients in a mug or  bowl. Mix.

Step 2: Add the wet ingredients. Mix.

Step 3: Microwave for two minutes.

BOOM: Rich chocolate cake.

Regular Chocolate Mug Cake

4 Tablespoons of flour

4 Tablespoons of sugar

4 Tablespoons of cocoa powder

1 Egg

1 Teaspoon of vanilla extract

3 Tablespoons of milk

3 tablespoons of oil

Handful of chocolate chips or pieces of a Hershey bar

Step 1: Put all of the dry ingredients in a mug or  bowl. Mix.

Step 2: Add the wet ingredients. Mix.

Step 3: Microwave for three minutes.

Pro Tip: These recipes are baseline chocolate mug cakes so that means you can jazz them up in anyway. Add Nutella, berries, coconut flakes or almonds. You can literally put anything in these puppies.
