Clarins ‘Graphic Expression’ Fall 2013 – Eyes [In Our Makeup Bag]

What It Is:

Clarins ‘Graphic Expression’ Fall 2013 eye offerings: Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in 11 Forest* and Be Long Mascara in 01 Intense Black*

Why This Should Be in Your Bag:

Clarins’ releases are some of my absolute favourite; they always release new shades of their Eye Quartets, but also usually include some fabulous new product. This Fall it’s Be Long mascara, which promises that “after 4 weeks of use, lashes increased in length by an average of 1.1mm.” That’s a pretty impressive claim! The new shade of palette, Forest, features a typical Fall palette of greens and browns which makes me crave a Pumpkin Spice Latte (anyone else?).

How To Use It:

Clarins always includes a couple ideas for how to use the Eye Quartet, but when I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to try: beige (top right) and bronze (bottom right) on the lid, khaki (top left) in the crease, dark brown (bottom left) in the outer corner and as liner. I finished off with Be Long mascara and was ready to take on the day.

CC Rating: B+/A+

I love Fall colours – all the greens and bronzes on the makeup counters just make me feel cozy! Clarins shades are right in line with my Fall expectations and I’m really enjoying them. I’m giving the Eye Quartet in Forest an ‘B+’ because it’s generally a good palette, but the beige was quite sheer and the dark brown was a bit patchy. The khaki and bronze were both EXTRAORDINARY and applied like dreams, but I can’t base my ratings on 2 outstanding shadows out of 4.

Be Long Mascara on the other hand is out of this world. The brush reminds me a bit of my beloved BUXOM Lash and it delivers just as much length (and maybe a bit more!). Seriously, this mascara at least doubles the length of my lashes without clumping at all. It’s blowing my mind and has quickly become a daily go-to when I want mega doe-eye action. I highly recommend it to anyone who craves long, lush lashes!
