Charlie Hunnam Will Not Be Christian Grey

Charlie Hunnam has dropped out of the Fifty Shades of Grey film. According to a statement from the filmmakers’ studio, “The filmmakers of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.”

E L James responded briefly on Twitter: “I wish Charlie all the best. x.”

Hmm, it seems they would have figured all this out before they casted and announced who the male lead was? I find this all a little suspicious since the film has had so much trouble casting the leads and Charlie Hunnam initially turned down the role.

I don’t know, do you think this movie is a hot mess behind the scenes?
