Watch Avril Lavigne And Chad Kroeger Duet For Your Middle School Soul

So Avril Lavigne and Mr. Avril Lavigne (Chad Kroeger of Nickelback) have released a duet called, “Let Me Go.” Let’s judge it. Remember when you were young enough to think Avril Lavigne was bad ass but then you realized she just wore a lot of stripes? Remember when you thought she was punk rock but then found out she worked with a team of songwriters called The Matrix, who wrote some of Hilary Duff’s greatest hits? Remember when “She was a girl. / He was a boy. / Can I make it anymore obvious?” sounded like a deep beautiful fairytale? REMEMBER!

Remember when Nickelback‘s, “This is how you remind me of what I really am?” sounded gritty and tough. Then America realized just because someone has a raspy voice and a guitar doesn’t mean they are talented? Do you remember these things of yesteryear? Well, today things are the past because Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are married and they are singing songs together and those songs are miracles.

In this “Let Me Go” video Avril Lavigne is looking fierce but I ask how many times must we rhyme “December” and “remember” in a song because nothing else rhymes with “remember,” besides “member,” which feels like a cop out? Why is there an old man stealing Avril Lavigne’s clothing as she sings a song with a poor rhyme scheme? At least she can sing, she is giving it her errythang. For real, tho.

So the old man looks in the mirror and sees Chad Kroeger (scary!) and when Avril looks at her fake iPad she sees Chad Kroeger (scary!). These are the weirdest vampires ever? An hourglass breaks and Chad Kroeger goes back into his genie bottle. Beautiful.
