Mother Monster is currently on a thirst tour to get you to buy “Applause” and “Do What U Want,” on iTunes. I’m a huge fan of The Fame Monster and miss the incarnation of Lady Gaga that was critiquing fame as she lived her thesis and self prophecy. This hypocritical album-shilling version is less appealing, yet I can’t help but get a little excited to listen to ARTPOP from start to finish. I can separate the music from the celebrity. In case you’re wondering if my thirst accusations are real just consider the fact that Lady Gaga went on a rant about how she created music for arts sake and not to sell singles. Then she leaked her song with R. Kelly, “Do What U Want,” after announcing “Venus” would be her second single. When “Do What U Want,” went to #1 on the charts in at least a dozen countries she decided to make that her second single instead of “Venus.” So, who is doing what for music and not the charts exactly?
But this post isn’t about that. It’s about paying homage to Gaga’s best quality: her fashion sense. Girl can pull off just about anything. I have no idea how she looks flawless with no makeup on because if I wore as much as she does sometimes the first 8 layers of my skin would literally fall off and the last layer would be covered in cystic acne. Halloween is around the corner and it doesn’t matter if you stan for The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way or ARTPOP—there is a Lady Gaga Halloween costume for you.
