15 Songs You Probably Haven’t Heard From All The “Best New Artist” Grammy Nominees

So I basically live and breathe from Grammy Awards night. I don’t know what it is about this specific awards show that gets me more excited than all the others because let’s be real, I love award season. I guess it’s the fact that I really adore music, or maybe it’s because sometimes the performances are a hot mess and who doesn’t love a train wreck? Whatever the reason, I know that this award show will be filled with some ups (Jay-Z and Beyonce performance!) and some major downs (Metallica? Meh.). All in all, I’m pretty pumped.

The main thing keeping me interested are the nominees for Best New Artist. It’s such an interesting category because it’s filled with nominees that are just coming onto the scene. They’re all (mostly) humble and just happy to be there. New artists and new songs just bring that fresh feeling to the show and keep the viewers interested. This year, five artists are nominated for Best New Artist: James Blake, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Kacey Musgraves, and Ed Sheeran. They pretty much covered every main alley of music with these nominees, so that’s always good to see. Variety is key. It’s also cool that all of these artists are vastly different. It makes for a good competition and an unpredictable win (though I think Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will take it).

Everyone knows the main singles out by these guys, but there are a lot of other gems on their records that you may not know if you’re just a fan from the radio. To help your ears and to get you ready for tomorrow, I’ve compiled a little playlist of 3 more unknown songs by each nominee! Check out the playlist below and let us know in the comments who you think will win tomorrow night!
