J.K. Rowling Crushes All Our Dreams By Admitting Hermione Should Have Married Harry

Potterheads, are you okay? Are you breathing? Do I need to send someone for help? Can you believe this nonsense? Why does J.K. do this kind of thing to us? We read all the books. We loved all the characters. It’s been years, and we have all come to terms with their fates. So when J.K. Rowling admitted in a new interview conducted by none other than Hermione herself, Emma Watson, that she actually questions her decision of putting Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger together, I just wanted to jump off a building. I can’t.

Rowling said, “I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment. That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”

To be fair, I guess I did always have a little bit of curiosity when it came to Harry and Hermione, but I never would dare to think that Rowling herself would utter such madness. And Rowling knew that I was going to be pissed about this, and she’s kind of sorry about it.

She continued, “I know, I’m sorry, I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I’m absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility.”

J.K., girl, just let it go. Stop going back and rethinking the greatest story ever told. To add insult to injury for us Ron/Hermione shippers out there, Emma Watson agreed with J.K. about the whole thing, claiming that Harry and Hermione would have made more sense. Ugh, I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.
