The REAL Reason John Mayer and Katy Perry Broke Up & More in Today's Candy Dish

John Mayer dumped Katy Perry. Despite all the official statements you may have heard, them’s the real facts. She did not leave him. He was never going to propose. The on-again-off-again nature of the relationship fell squarely on Katy’s shoulders because there was just one habit of hers that dear ol’ John did not care for. BlindGossip has the inside scoop:

Katy Perry likes to party hard. Katy Perry really wanted John Mayer to propose. Mayer hates Perry’s chronic drinking and partying. That was the main reason they broke up last year. They eventually got back together, but Mayer made it very clear to her that he was never going to propose to her until she stopped partying.

Perry would not stop partying… and she would not stop pushing the marriage issue. All of the engagement ring teases were publicity stunts orchestrated by Katy Perry. She was the one who bought the rings. She thought that if the public liked the idea of her engagement, that it would push Mayer towards proposing. That didn’t happen. It actually caused Mayer to back away more. Mayer eventually became so annoyed by her constant partying, her public clamoring for attention, and her trying to push him into marriage, that he broke up with Perry again.

Yes, Mayer broke up with Perry, not the other way around as she is claiming. And he broke up with her for the same reason that Russell Brand broke up with her: Perry’s partying is out of control.
