Gwyneth Paltrow, GOOP Goddess, Divorces Chris Martin, Princess Of China

The Goddess of GOOP Gwyneth Paltrow is separating from husband and Coldplay singer Chris Martin. Chris most notably sung a terrible song called “Princess of China,” featuring Rihanna. A song so preposterously offensive I nearly forgot it existed. Seriously watch that video. Gwyneth Paltrow has always been polarizing because she doesn’t conceal the fact that she is very wealthy and privileged. I think it’s a good thing. I am not a fan of celebrities trying to sell me products they would never consume (see: Beyoncé and Pepsi). Gwyn keeps it real and for her being real means spending $5,0000 on a white t-shirt. Yes, it’s frivolous. Yes, it’s capitalism. But hey, it’s honest.

Gwyn and Chris announced their separation via hew GOOP newsletter entitled “Conscious Uncoupling.”

It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.

Love, Gwyneth & Chris

Marriage is haaaaard and sometimes breaking up is actually the courageous and correct thing to do.
