What It Is:
Too Faced Natural Eye* and A La Mode* Eyeshadow Collections
Why This Should Be in Your Bag:
Too Faced are the dark horse of the eyeshadow palette game. They’re shadows are always buttery soft and just a pleasure to use and the price point is on-par with expectations. Their Chocolate Bar palette has been my favorite new release of the year so far, so I was extremely excited to test out their new Natural Eyes and A La Mode Collections for Summer 2014!
How To Use It:
Too Faced always includes a handy card of recommended looks and organizes the palettes into Day, Classic and Fashion looks. I often break these rules just go for whatever feels right that day! That’s one thing I love about these palettes; they’re curated so well that everything mixes and matches.
CC Rating: A+
I’m not surprised by how much I adore the Natural Eyes Palette, but I am surprised by my like for the A La Mode palette. Looking at the colors, I would NEVER EVER pick the A La Mode palette. The shades seem too extreme upon first glance, but I’m happy to report they’re quite wearable.
Every single shade in the Natural Eyes Collection is perfect; all blendable, smooth and pigmented. And with 3 new shades, even Too Faced collectors can celebrate! The only shade I’m not crazy about between the two is St. Tropez, the base shade from the Day look in A La Mode. It’s a matte beige with sparkles and I find that it just doesn’t really show up on my pale skin. However, most palettes have at least a couple “duds” so I’m impressed there’s only 1 in A La Mode!
I highly recommend both these palettes, especially if you’re looking to start (or bulk up) your eyeshadow collection or are a frequent traveller. Despite the versatility of Chocolate Bar, Natural Eyes is less than half the size and gives you the same options of shimmers and mattes! Both retail for $36 at TooFaced.com!
