In about 25 years I fully expect to be very confused by kids and their hover boards or whatever the technology du jour is. Now, some parents are able to grow and evolve with technology but for most older people it seems to become increasingly difficult. I am not entirely sure why. Getting older doesn’t necessarily make you less intelligent but it probably makes it more difficult to care about fads. If you don’t care about using the latest social media network then your motivation to use the internet probably decreases a ton. If you don’t work with a computer then what do you really need it for? By the time we’re old, we’ll probably still be highly dependent on the Internet so hopefully we won’t become awkward old people commenting on our great grand newphew’s social media statuses to remind him to stop smoking pot and clean his room. Parents aren’t just awkward on the internet, they literally have no idea wtf is going on. My dad calls the mouse the “rabbit” and can only use the computer to watch Netflix. The struggle is real and after spending the weekend with my parents I was reminded of their total lack of comprehension of the internet and computers.
