Entering my third year of college at California Baptist University has taught me a few things. It’s taught me to go to all the events because you’re most likely to get a free shirt. It’s taught me to speed walk to the “caf” during lunch time on Fridays if I want to get a good table. It’s also taught me that CBU is also an acronym for “Cute Boy University.”
Yes, CBU is a religious school, but not just any religious school. It’s a diverse campus that welcomes everyone (even those who aren’t religious). This private school is just a stepping stone to help those on their journey with Christ and to help those who want to pursue their dream jobs (or even both).
I’ve observed and learned about different types of people at CBU. And although the students at CBU come from different backgrounds and have different dreams, they all share the little quirks of the campus. Differences aside, we can all agree you’re not a real CBU student unless you’ve done these 11 things…
1. Gotten excited about sushi days at the “caf”
2. Gotten run over by a longboard
3. Wore gym clothes to class
4. Owned a pair of sandals
5. Asked, “Hey is there chapel tomorrow?”
6. For guys – held the door open for a girl
7. Gone to late night Briscos when you literally ate 5 plates of pasta the hour before
8. Took the elevator in the James building
9. Went on the Ring by Spring website because you were “curious”
10. Didn’t feel like walking from the colony to the Recreation Center so you took your car
11. Cried over how expensive CBU is
