You know you’re getting old when casts from shows you watched as a lad or lass are reuniting. For instance – “Hey Dude.” The cast of the cult classic got together last week at the ATX Television Festival in Houston. CNN says that it was the first time the cast had linked up since the show wrapped in 1991. NINETEEN NINETY ONE. That’s when I was born. *shudders* Nineties nostalgia is one helluva drug.
Though Teen Nick airs the ‘90s Are All That programming block, it’s like the concentrated version of the shows that I really, really loved as a youngster. Yep, I still literally laugh out loud at “Hey Arnold” and find myself humming the “Rugrats” theme song…but those are shows that were accessible on Netflix and YouTube, you know? I miss the real primetime goodness. The deep cuts of Nick, if you will. I’m sure that the powers that be could find a way to add these nearly-forgotten oldies-but-goodies to someone’s rotation.
