Going Natural with Perricone MD's No Lipstick Lipstick [In Our Makeup Bag]

What It Is:
Perricone MD No Lipstick Lipstick*
Why This Should Be in Your Bag:
Perricone MD has an interesting collection of makeup that’s perfectly suited to the no-makeup look. They used to only offer a foundation and concealer, but have now added several new products including one shade of lipstick. Marketed as “an anti-aging lip treatment with SPF 15 designed to enhance lip contours and mimic the natural rosy color of youthful lips”, it sounds like quite the superstar! I’m a huge fan of MLBB (my lips but better) shades and am always on the hunt for the a new one for my arsenal.

How To Use It:
Perricone MD recommends applying No Lipstick Lipstick daily and reapplying as needed. The bullet is flat, which makes precision application a bit difficult. As I use it, it slants more and has begun to follow the shape of my lips a bit more naturally.

CC Rating: B+

As a straight up lipstick, Perricone MD No Lipstick Lipstick is great; it’s creamy, has a lovely vanilla scent and is my perfect MLBB shade! No Lipstick Lipstick imparts a glossy finish with zero shimmer. It wears for about 3 hours before needing to be reapplied, just like most glossy lipsticks and the smell dissipates quickly after application.
Despite loving it, I didn’t see any of the promised benefits. I wore this daily for about a week and while it was comfortable like a balm, my lip lines didn’t seem to improve. The other claims are rather vague, but generally my lips weren’t any better or worse for wearing this. The price also plays into the B+ rating; $30 is quite a bit to drop on a lipstick and I’m sure one could find a shade match in plenty of drugstore and other high-end brands.
If you have the $30 to spare and are in the market for a MLBB color, then you’ll love the Perricone MD No Lipstick Lipstick! It’s available at Sephora.
