New "Get Her Back" Video Proves Robin Thicke Needs Get His Dignity Back

Robin Thicke has been going through a tough time over the past year. Despite his major success with Blurred Lines, things went spiraling downhill when his wife of almost ten years and mother of his son Julian left him in February!
Now it’s nothing new for artists to channel their woes an lows for their music, but Robin Thicke is making us a tad uncomfortable. He first debuted “Get Her Back” in May at the Billboard Music Awards and that was awkward. Then he announced that he was working on an entire album dedicated to and named after his estranged wife — that was even more awkward. Now this video and it’s pop up text messages (that we pray to God aren’t their real conversations) have taken him way past Jenna Hamilton on the awkward scale and we just can’t handle it anymore.
Robin, honey, take a seat and collect your dignity. You’re exposing way too much and it’s making us want to barf! We get that you’re hopelessly in love with this woman, but you don’t need to tell us that you guys don’t make love anymore — and not to rub salt in the wound or anything, we kind of already knew that because…well…she left you.
The song is good. You’re a great singer and song writer, so by default it was going to be a great song. But this video is more than questionable. Why was your nose bloody? What does that have to do with Paula? Why is you head being dunked in water?!?
And then as if sitting through the video didn’t strike enough alarm, there’s warning at the end of the video that “this is only the beginning” is bewildering! What is going on Robin? Where are you? Do you need help? Have you fallen and can’t get up?
We’re not sure what the next steps are for Robin and Paula, but if they’re anything like this video it’s going to be a long and uncomfortable journey that all of us are being forced to bear witness to. Experience “the beginning” below.
