Will Your Spring Semester Crush Become Something More This Fall?

We’ve already helped you transition from Spring Fling to Summer Bummer (that’s what I’m going to start calling the period of time where you aren’t really speaking to your hookup 24/7). But now what happens if you decide you’re sorta, kinda, maybe looking forward to becoming his boo again?
He’s the guy you’d miss Scandal for just so you could hang out for a bit and stare at his big beautiful eyes (and bigger biceps). The hardest part about mutually crushing on a guy from school is that he probably lives 1,000 miles away from you and you won’t see him in person this summer. Sure, you can stalk his social media pages all day long and Snapchat your days away, but it just isn’t the same. You’ve been crushing on this cutie for a while now, but how do you know if your crush will become something more in the fall?
Well, first off, don’t get your hopes up. It’s possible that you two will see each other in the fall and feel like you were never apart, or you could see each other again and it’d be like you had never met. My point is: you just don’t know with crushes. Don’t find yourself thinking of what could be with a guy who’s not even yours and make sure to live a LOT this summer. There are dozens of guys to meet (Tinder, anyone?) and even more adventures to be had this summer. Don’t waste your time waiting around thinking of the “what ifs.”
You owe it to yourself to take full advantage of what this summer has to offer to you. You could put your energy into networking at your cool new internship, or catch up with old friends from high school, or lay out in the sun instagramming beach pics and your summer glow—it’s up to you. But please, for the love of Olivia Pope, do not wait around for a spring semester crush. Carpe diem. Live in the moment. Enjoy today because it’s all you can be sure of. The fall will be here before you know it; you’ll be back to exams and back to new crushes.
