How To Not GAF That It's Monday In 5 Easy Steps Because You Don't GAF

Today is Monday, uuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh, kiiiiiiill me. Especially after a long weekend, Monday can feel like an impending apocalypse of the banalities of life and sad lunches. So fuck it, skip it. Skip your Monday or next Monday, skip Monday in your life and do something else. Why? You’re a rebel, you DGAF. No, I know, it’s scary, what if you get caught? How on Earth would you get caught, my dear? Remember when you skipped school in high school (nope)? You used to be cool (nope), what happened to you? Be a rebel (for one single, don’t go crazy on me)!
1. Do you have to go to work or school today? If the answer is “technically yes” then call out sick. If the answer is “no” then you are one step ahead of the game.

2. Do you have any money at all? If the answer is “Yes, I’m ballin’,” then you are in luck. If the answer is “no” then we can work with that.

3. If you have money do a thing that costs money. If you do not have money do a thing that don’t cost no money, K? Here are things that can and cannot cost money: The beach, museum, sunbathing in the park, public pool, hell, even an air conditioned public library might do the trick. The point is to relax, not GAF and do something that will inspire you to not GAF.

4. This is the hard part. It really is. You have to actually not give a fuck. You’ve taken a day off but all you can probably think about is how you faked sick and how you’re worried you’ll get caught (you won’t) and how you’ve ditched your responsibility to be self indulgent. Welp, my friend, you literally have one life. You only get one life to live and it cannot revolve around the work that you’ve done, will do and are doing. There are actually more important things and really, truly, if you are not experiencing joy consistently (not necessarily always but consistently) then you are simply taking up space. Of course, this goes without saying, if today is an extra important day at school or work, if you have an exam or presentation to give, if today is the day that you have to be responsible then you must show up. It’s still essential that you acknowledge that the world will keep on turning if you decided to take a day off.

5. Now that you have chosen, and it is a choice, to pretend like it is a real day off and not a day where you took a day off and decided to feel very guilty about that. Relax. Recharge. Don’t even be productive in the “furthering your goals” sense, be productive in the sense that being happy is actually being productive. Taking a break is actually making the most of your situation sometimes. It is too nice out and too Monday-ish for you to be locked in doors. It is Monday, JK, no it’s not, so DGAF.
