10 Signs Everyone Thinks You're A Hater

People call me a hater all the time. I used to be annoyed but now I accept my status as the resident hater. I have no problem articulating exactly why I don’t like something. So? I am critical of the world around me because I want it to be better. I often find it strange that people get so upset when someone doesn’t like the same stuff as them. What is the big deal? You like The Big Bang Theory, I like Scandal both shows basically suck so what is the problem? The stuff you like doesn’t define who you are, who you are dictates the stuff you like. The reason why we can look at the same thing, a work of art for example, and one of us sees beauty and one of us sees ugliness is because we are two different people with two different perspectives. That’s what makes human beings so interesting.
Being a hater doesn’t mean you have to be negative all the time. It doesn’t mean you have to sling insults at people you care about or make fun of them because they like something you don’t. Although sometimes, I feel, us reasonable haters get lumped in with really negative haters. If you can relate to 3 or more of the things on this list people probably think you’re a hater. Embrace it.
1. People telling you that you’re a hater is a pretty good first indication.

2. Everything always tend to turn into an argument with you.

3. You can’t even ignore someone’s lame internet status. You have to tell them how lame they are.

4. Even when your friend is super excited about something, you have no problem telling them they shouldn’t be.

5. You constantly have to explain to people that you’re not actually mad, upset or unhappy.

6. Although you do feel quite pleased with yourself when you perfectly lay down the law, even if it required some bitchiness.

7. Sometimes you feel like you’re surrounded by cowards and if people were a little more honest about what they really think instead of telling people what they want to hear, the world would be a better place or at least more interesting.

8. People always hear that you don’t like something instead of hearing why you don’t like it which is the most important part. You feel misunderstood.

9. Admittedly, sometimes it seems like everything does suck. Sometimes it does feel like you do hate everything.

10. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, you know embracing things is probably better than poo-pooing on them.
