Beyoncé Covers Nancy Sinatra In The New "On The Run" Trailer

Beyoncé covers Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang” in the On The Run trailer. The HBO special will feature tour footage from The Carter’s controversial (all those divorce and cheating rumors) world tour. I have to admit the footage looks damn good.

I do have to point on one thing. Bey is clearly copying Lana Del Rey’s video “National Anthem.” In Lana sings to rapper A$AP Rocky recreating the moment Marilyn Monroe sung “Happy Birthday” to John F. Kennedy.

Lana being Marilyn, Rocky being JFK. Bey’s version is all too similar to style in which Lana’s video was shot. Jay watches, smokes a cigar, and Bey sings into one of those old school mics. It’s even shot in black and white. It’s no secret that Lana Del Rey’s inspiration comes from Nancy Sinatra, so Bey is clearly doing something shady here. Especially because Lana sung at Kim and Kanye’s wedding and Bey Z did not attend. Why is Bey ripping off the aesthetic of Kimye’s friend?
Interesting.
