Listen to Taylor Swift's VMA Performance With Her Vocals Isolated

She’s a popular (or should I say unpopular) topic of conversation here at CollegeCandy. Back in the era when teardrops were still falling on her guitar, everyone seemed to be on the Taylor Swift bandwagon. As of late, however, the Taylor buzz has seemed to reach a fever pitch and many of you have let us know that you think her high school outcast routine is tired and overrated.
With the release of last week’s “Shake It Off”, the first single from her upcoming album, she’s hitting us over the head with that cliche all over again — she’s not one of the cool kids, and haters are gonna hate hate hate hate hate. But you gotta shake it off, yo. Good message, annoying song. Anyway, since Team Swift clearly wants you to love this song or else, she performed it at the VMAs last night in some weird 1920s flapper costume. Let’s forget that her album is called 1989 and allegedly pays homage to the catchy pop tunes of that era. Maybe Taylor was on tour during history class.

And because she’s a self-fulfilling prophecy who is eternally picked on, some bully decided to isolate her vocal track from the VMA performance so we could hear what she really sounds like without the buoy of backup vocals and instruments. It’s basically like learning the beautiful homecoming queen has extensions and eczema. Taylor Swift, icon to misunderstood cheerleaders everywhere, cannot sing. At least she can’t sing very well.
