Voice judge CeeLo Green is still dealing with the consequences after basically being a moron. Green pled no contest to the allegations that he slipped ecstasy in a woman’s drink at a club. In a normal court situation pleading no contest is similar to pleading guilty but you’re technically innocent, which is annoying.
The woman claimed she was downtown with Green when he slipped something into her drink and the next thing she knew she woke up next to Green. She was not dressed. That sucks. But what’s worse is what Green did after he started receiving backlash for his actions.
Like any jaded celebrity, Green took to Twitter to vent his frustrations. What he tweeted was inappropriate and vile regarding a woman’s consent to sex. He’s so stupid and gross. I hate him. After he tweeted these tweets, he basically erased his Twitter because he realized he made a huge mistake. He did apologize for the tweets, but that hasn’t stopped people from dropping the singer from upcoming dates.
According to E! Online, the singer was supposed to co-headline a Freedom Live brand gig on Sept. 20 with the country group Little Big Town in Washington, D.C. as well as performing Gretna Heritage Festival in Louisiana in October.
The organizers of the Freedom Live event posted on their Facebook page:
“We seek a Department-wide culture of gender dignity and respect where sexual assault is completely eliminated and never tolerated, where sexual assault victims receive compassionate and coordinated support, and where offenders are held appropriately accountable. Unfortunately, one of the performers we signed for the JBAB Freedom Live show on 20 September recently posted comments on social media that we consider to completely inconsistent with Navy core values,” the post said. “Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable. As a result, we have made the decision to pull CeeLo Green from the Freedom Live event on 20 September.”
And the organizers for the Gretna Heritage Festival also posted an announcement on their Facebook page regarding replacing CeeLo Green with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (which is a much better band and person, in my opinion).
CeeLo Green has been removed from the #GretnaFest line-up, as he does not represent the festival’s wholesome family environment.
The Gretna Heritage Festival Board is more than excited to announce Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will be joining the line-up and celebrating with us the 20 years of music, food, and fun!”
According to E! Online, TBS decided to pull the plug on CeeLo Green’s reality show that only had lackluster ratings after one season.
I don’t feel bad for him at all. Not at all.
