I hate Kanye West. I think he’s the most arrogant celebrity. His music is pretty good though, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he annoys me beyond belief. And apparently a lot more people are annoyed with him as well. TMZ is reporting that last night at a concert Kanye West told a boy in a wheelchair to stand up.

Kind of. In reality, it is kind of getting blown out of proportion because everyone else hates Kanye West too. So here at CollegeCandy, I’m putting personal bias aside and setting the record straight.

Here’s how it really went down, West was playing a show in Australia when he told the crowd, “I can’t do this show until everybody stand up. ¬†Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and s**t.” Apparently, he stopped rapping mid song to make this announcement.

Then someone in the crowd waved their prosthetic leg and Kanye announced in the microphone that it is okay and they can stay seated. He then turns his attention to a boy in a wheelchair. While waiting for this person to stand Kanye said, “This is the longest I’ve had to wait to do a song. It’s unbelievable.”

Then he sent one of his security guards to make sure the person who remained seated was in a wheelchair. After his handicap was confirmed, West said it was okay that he, too, stayed sitting down. I just think the whole this is obnoxious. Like, get over yourself Kanye. But the truth remains that he did not DEMAND that the boy stand up.
