Lena Dunham Unleashes 12 Advice Videos In #AskLena Series

Lena Dunham dropped a 12-part advice series called #AskLena to promote her memoir Not That Kind Of A Girl. I generally have little interest in GIRLS (it’s just not my thing) and I am not a fan of her writing (also not my thing) but any woman in her twenties who is writing, producing, acting and directing is worth keeping an eye on.
I suspect Lena will be far more interesting (to me) when she’s a bit older and out of her “I am the voice of generation” millennial narcissism phase (hey, I’m going through that phase too which is probably why I don’t want to see it. No T. No shade.). I think her video series is a pretty cool idea to get to know the Lena that is less constructed. It’s so easy to conflate the IRL Lena with her character on GIRLS because Hannah Horvath was based on her real self. Certainly every writer knows that only about 20% of who you are is reflected in what you put on the paper.
The advice ranges from career, relationship, body image and anything else a girl might ask. Here are 3 of our favorites.
