Shonda Rhimes dragged Katherine Heigl to filth and served her some truth tea. Katherine Heigl is known for signing up to do projects like Grey’s Anatomy and Knocked Up. The thing about Katherine is that she asserts herself as being better than the projects she does which she claims to have bad material or be riddled with sexism.
In a profile with The Hollywood Reporter, Shonda Rhimes spoke about working with an asshole-less cast, “We’re always behind,” she admits — the operation runs smoothly and the cast is tight-knit. “There are no Heigls in this situation,” she says, choosing her words carefully. She adds later of her “no assholes” policy: “I don’t put up with bullshit or nasty people. I don’t have time for it.”
Look, Katherine may not even be wrong about Hollywood’s sexism or Grey’s imperfect material, but you cannot act as though you have better values than the people you work for when you are agreeing to those projects. If you had actually had those values, that you’ll only make great art that’s supportive of women, then you wouldn’t have immediately sold out those values once there was a paycheck available. That’s the thing about having values, you don’t really have them unless you stick to them when they are tested. Otherwise they’re merely thoughts. And if you’re willing to sell out your art or feminism to make money then you actually aren’t any different than the people you’re dissing for making bad art or being sexist to make money.
Glad Shonda is dragging her for being disrespectful.
