We thought this was just a fun sing-a-long. There is literally a lyric that says, “Doing crystal meth will lift you up until you break.” I was part of a bunch of ten-year-old kids singing about doing drugs. Lovely.

Actual lyrics: “Call before you come, I need to shave my chocha. You do or you don’t or you will or won’t you. Go downtown and eat it like a vulture.” I’m still slightly uncomfortable that this was on the radio.

Not even the most loved little girl band could go without making a song about sex. Took a long time for me to catch on to that one…despite the repetition of Mel C. singing, “Wanna make love to ya, baby.”

The boys of N SYNC were so ahead of their time. They were down to get “nasty” and “freaky-deeky” with some cyber sex way before Skype was around.
