Emma Watson, best known for playing a bookish girl who an entire generation of bookish girls dressed up as for Halloween will soon be playing…the bookish girl they all dressed up as the next year. Yes, Ms Watson will be playing Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and most excitedly it looks like there fill definitely be singing in the upcoming Disney live action adaptation. Watson posted the announcement on her Facebook page explaining, “I’m finally able to tell you… that I will be playing Belle in Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There’. My six year old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can’t wait for you to see it. Emma xx.”
Two questions remain- will this be an adaptation of the early ’90s animated film or the mid-’90s broadway musical (the difference is the addition of a few truly spectacular songs) and who will be Emma’s beast? Actually, three questions, whichever most likely throughly attractive guy they tap, will he be in full mascot-costume mode, of slightly hairy and still mostly attractive like the creatures in Teen Wolf?
