“Wonderwall” might be your favorite song, but you are not going to like what Oasis’ Noel Gallagher has to say about some of your favorite artists. Noel was drinking the haterade when he spoke to Rolling Stone magazine, dissing a bunch of today’s top pop artists.
Taylor Swift got the worst of it. Seems Noel is not a fan of her songwriting and doesn’t understand how anyone else is. When the magazine mentioned her songwriting skills, he slammed the singer, asking, “Who says that? Her parents.” Rolling Stone responded that lots of people praise her writing, but he wasn’t buying it. “Who’s ‘people’? Name these people,” he said. “You’re f–king lying. She seems like a nice girl, but no one has ever said those words, and you f–king know it.”
The rant continued and One Direction received criticism from Noel for acting as props. “They’re lovely lads. But I’ve got to say, I have difficulties with people who don’t write their own songs, who’ve got a team of songwriters who work for your record label,” he said. (1D co-writes many of their hits…just saying).
“Modern pop music is bland nonsense,” he continued. “There isn’t even a word yet that’s capable of describing it. If it was a color, it would be beige…It’s like a milky brown. Not for me.”
Tell us how you really feel, Noel.
