A user on Imgur who calls herself TheBassistsMuse had a rough night. While most of us just wake up in the morning questioning how we got home, TheBassistsMuse had it a little rougher. As she puts it, “I’m really fucking stupid. You’d think for someone surviving Nopeland for 20 years, the country of “Sorry” and Maple Syrup would do me some fucking wonders, but instead it kicked my ass.” The Australian with little previous experience with snow chronicled her experience on Imgur. Fair warning: Some of these pictures are pretty gross.
TheBassistsMuse was drinking at a bar in Canada with some friends when she disappeared outside around 2:30 AM. Here she appears in the middle of her two friends shortly before heading outside.
She was found at 5:45 AM, curled in a ball and attempting to nap (a symptom of hypothermia). At 6:30 a nurse told me that in the best case scenario, she will keep herfingers. Worst case, she loses her hands.
She spent the next few days at the hospital as her hands blistered.
To add insult to injury, her doctor’s name was Dr. Freezin.
After days of pain (despite the opiates), Dr. Freezin finally popped the blisters with a scalpel and “puss went everywhere.” Oh my god, ew, gagging. 
“Tl;dr = I got frostbite in Canada, might lose a finger. Dunno yet. BUT my specialist was called Dr.Freezin.”
She’s now on the path to recovery and will find out in June if she can keep all her fingers. Lesson learned: don’t bring Australians to cold places. Or get drunk and take a nap in the snow. And always have a sense of humor.
