WATCH: The Heartbreaking Trailer For The New Amy Winehouse Documentary Has Arrived

Amy Winehouse’s untimely death at age 27 from alcohol poisoning robbed her of living a full life and robbed the rest of the world of a musical genius. The upcoming documentary on the singer’s life, Amy, follows her through her early years and her rise to stardom. However, this haunting new trailer shows that Amy was not prepared for fame – in fact, she feared it. “I don’t think I’m going to be at all famous,” we hear Amy say. “I don’t think I could handle it. I would probably go mad, do you know what I mean? I would go mad.”

In a statement on the film’s official Facebook page, producer James Gay-Rees and director Asif Kapadia write, “This is an incredibly modern, emotional and relevant film that has the power to capture the zeitgeist and shine a light on the world we live in, in a way that very few films can.”

Amy comes out this summer.
