Kelly Clarkson’s weight has taken center stage since the original American Idol released her new album Piece by Piece. Last month, outspoken British journalist Katie Hopkins tweeted about the new mom’s appearance on The Graham Norton Show saying she looked like she ate her backup dancers. Kelly ignored the comments, saying “I’m awesome! It doesn’t bother me. It’s a free world. Say what you will. I’ve just never cared what people think. It’s more if I’m happy and I’m confident and feeling good, that’s always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family—I don’t seek out any other acceptance.”
In a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the singer talked about her weight, saying her weight is constantly fluctuating. “I’m such a creative person that I yoyo,” she said. “So sometimes I’m more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore. And then sometimes I don’t and I’m like … I’d rather have wine.” Here, hear!
Now, another person has made comments on Kelly’s weight, but don’t worry guys, he’s sorry. Fox anchor Chris Wallace appeared on The Mike Gallagher Show on Friday, April 3, and both men made headlines for their comments over Kelly’s figure.
“Have you seen Kelly Clarkson? You know the singer, Kelly Clarkson? Holy cow, did she blow up,” Gallagher said.
Wallace replied, “Really? Do we want to talk about some of your friends? Kelly Clarkson’s got a lovely voice. She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while.”
“I sincerely apologize to Kelly Clarkson for my offensive comment,” Wallace told Us Weekly in a statement. “I admire her remarkable talent and that should have been the focus of any discussion about her.”
Ugh…let’s stop the weight talk, okay?
