It’s a scenario we’ve all encountered. You see a friend post a really funny tweet, and you want to add your two cents. Instead of retweeting, you copy the tweet with “RT” in front, but you have to cut out half of their message to add your own comments inside 140 characters. Twitter understands your frustration, and has officially launched a “retweet with comment” feature.
The idea began testing last summer and allows users to embed a tweet in their own tweets, eliminating the 140 character issue. While you may laugh at the way the Twitterverse is welcoming the new feature, it makes the social media site more social. It allows people to share and comment on tweets without having to alter the original tweet. That way the meaning of the original tweet doesn’t get lost or cut.
It’s easy – just click retweet like you normally would, but you’ll notice a text box above the tweet where you can add your own witty commentary. On your timeline, you’ll see your addition with the original tweet inside. Just click the embedded tweet to see what it looked like originally.

The feature is now available on Twitter’s site and iPhone app. Android users will have to wait just a little while longer.
Please retweet this to spread awareness for retweets. https://t.co/aPKETaWm1I
