Looks like Meredith Grey is afraid of losing fans. Like I said before, I had to get off the Grey’s Anatomy bandwagon a few years ago because I just couldn’t suspend my disbelief any further, but the plot twist in last week’s episode even had me upset. In case you are still on season 7 or don’t believe in Twitter so you don’t know what happened, you should probably stop reading. Now. Stop.
Both McDreamy himself, Patrick Dempsey, and Shonda Rhimes spoke out immediately following Dr. Derek Shepherd’s death in last week’s episode, and today Ellen Pompeo took to Twitter to reach out to fans. Posting a photo of her statement on Twitter, with the caption, “Happy Monday!,” the actress who portrays Meredith Grey said she hoped fans will join her on Meredith’s “journey” after the loss of her husband.

Translation: Please don’t stop watching the show even though all the good characters have been killed off or left.
What Ellen says is very true, but the core of Grey’s Anatomy is Meredith and Derek’s relationship. I have a feeling Ellen knows that fans are getting tired of investing themselves in a character only to have them die. I’ve cried too many tears over Grey’s Anatomy than any person should over a fictional television show. It’s extremely exhausting.
